Carrara
Carrara is part of the Province of Massa-Carrara. This town is made important thanks to its first among all industries of Carrara marble, with the famous white marble extracted from nearby Apuane Alps. Together with Massa, it between the period between the fifteenth and nineteenth century was the Duchy of Massa and Carrara. Among the most monumental of the city remember the Dome of the twelfth century and the ducal palace of the sixteenth century, now transformed into the seat of Fine Arts.
